That is what I thought too, but:Not to burst your bubble (HA see what i did ther) but the Sentinel isnt likely to have the same EMP cpabilities. Based on the description of the ship on RSI website ship page, it will be more of a passive EWAR ship, like staying hidden and stealthed out of radar view while escorting other bombers. Hence why it talks about the decoy missiles and such.
The Vanguard Sentinel is a ship that’s designed to fight smart instead of taking enemies head on. The conversion features an AR cockpit, an external e-War pod, decoy missiles and a set of EMP charges. Vanguard Sentinels often provide necessary combat support for combined operations. A lone Sentinel assigned wild weasel tasks is frequently paired with Harbinger bombers and Warden escorts for large attack missions.
I read that too, but I do not believe that will be effectively the same as the warlock which has a dedicated machine in the back of it to make the bubble. That is what I thought too, but:

That's a fair bet. Making EMP mines available would be a game changing dynamic. The only way I can see they could do it is restrict the pulse radius severely, and have it be inadequate for larger ships, but we'll see what we see. One thing you can be sure of is that the martial ability of military ships is going to be vastly beyond that of non-military. Squadron 42 is written around the abilities of the Vanguard. Expect it to be a scary bird.I read that too, but I do not believe that will be effectively the same as the warlock which has a dedicated machine in the back of it to make the bubble.
That's what I'm hoping! Remember the old vid of the Lancer that gets hit by a waiting spike missile while navigating an asteroid field? CIG is taunting us to believe the best about this game!To me, the term "EMP Charges" leads me to believe that these are one-time-use devices such as. . .Depth Charges.
During last weekends meetup, i was annoying everyone in the warlock, and without any physical contact between ships, i somehow managed to make a few of their ships explode.... maybe its a bug? That Avenger Warlock actually rammed the Starfarer, the EMP has nothing to do with the explosion.
That is OK with me, I have a Vanguard Warden with a Sentinel BUK and a Warlock, just in case :DI read that too, but I do not believe that will be effectively the same as the warlock which has a dedicated machine in the back of it to make the bubble.
That would eliminate this problem:To me, the term "EMP Charges" leads me to believe that these are one-time-use devices such as missiles or Depth Charges. I'd imagine that it would be odd if CIG didn't include some sort of remote-detonated EMP mines for folks to set traps with. Then again, who the hell knows until they elaborate a bit more on them.
The backdraw of EMP is: the Warlock also will be left without shields.
, Can you tell us, how much time does it take to charge the EMP Generator, what is the burst radius, does it affect all ships the same in the radius and how long until you and your victims' computers come back up after a blast? I have never seen any stats published about the Warlock. That Avenger Warlock actually rammed the Starfarer, the EMP has nothing to do with the explosion.
Sounds like a good experiment for the weekend! We didnt write down any figures last weekend when i was fucking around in the warlock., Can you tell us, how much time does it take to charge the EMP Generator, what is the burst radius, does it affect all ships the same in the radius and how long until you and your victims' computers come back up after a blast? I have never seen any stats published about the Warlock.
- EMP needs 10 seconds to charge, Can you tell us, how much time does it take to charge the EMP Generator, what is the burst radius, does it affect all ships the same in the radius and how long until you and your victims' computers come back up after a blast? I can't wait for this. I think the Privateering aspect is what excites me the most. I have a Harbinger with the Warden and Sentinel BUKS. Fun fun.Yes, I have wondered long and hard about the notion of "EMP Charges". I think most here know I intend to buy a Sentinel or two when they come out. I am thinking of buying a pair of Sentinels and four Hoplites. In any event, the Vanguard will be my main ride and the Sentinel my favorite, up until I have to choose between them and a Polaris.
I am hoping the charges in question are like EMP mines. You can imagine a wing of Vanguards open up on a target, even hard targets like a Polaris; and then max reverse and uncouple so the time their target is in long range weapons fire from the Guards but outside their own range is maximized, and as the guards retreat, they dump EMP charges. Draw plays like this are hard to avoid without real discipline and forethought, and could end up netting a wing of SuperHornets at a time. The Outsiders have so many ships they want to give us. . .
Loonetik, you're on my list for a privateering Vanguard squadron. There are almost 40 on this list now. It will be interesting to see how many can connect during the same hours. We really need 12 players for 6 ships. With 30 players we could become the most feared mercenaries in the galaxy.
I think we should be able to accomodate.Sounds like a good experiment for the weekend! We didnt write down any figures last weekend when i was fucking around in the warlock.
