Okey, there has likely been discussion and speculation on the subject before. And there isn't really any new information about the ship itself, apart from it being one of the last remnants of the rapidly dwindling stock of ships that were designed and priced before the current pipeline was finished, and virtually all of those ships, especially the larger ones, have seen huge improvements.
Which is why I bought the CCU from my Gemini to Endeavor. I'm in no rush to apply it, but I think there is a decent chance Endeavor will get even more interesting than it currently seems.
Firstly, it's designed to be very modular. It's basically the definition of modular. And while there is a nice science/medicine set of modules for it already, there seems to be lacking a dedicated cargo module. I'm virtually certain that eventually there will be one. Or at least some sort of support module that increases the amount of cargo the ship can carry, I think they'll eventually figure that it'll make more sense that if the ship produces material, it might need a place to store that material. Other than cluttering the hangar.
Secondly, that hangar module. 2 cutlasses or up to 4 smaller ships? Insanity. Delicious, delicious insanity. Whatever you're doing, a ship with capital shields and a proper escort you can launch from the ship? That's pretty good combination security wise. Besides, if any ship can hold out until those combat assistance beacons yield results, it's a capital ship with escorts.
Thirdly, I rather like that the ship can just detach the front section. That's generally speaking neat.
Truth be told, I bought / have bought all the CCUs from my Gemini to ships at around $350 mark, and I got to the Hercules as well. Now I'll just be patient and wait to see which one will be the most bene... nah, I'm rushing off to upgrade my gemini to BMM. (Shame I missed the Carrack one, but well, I think Carracks landing deck ended up being kinda disappointing, so... meh. Pisces is totally awesome tho.)
