This was the case in X2 which is the main game I played trade in, but the difference there was stock levels were updated in real time. You'd be watching the trading console looong before you even had the destination station on scanners, and of course no having to waste 15 minutes playing hide and seek running to a trading console hidden somewhere on a station you have never been to before was a massive help too.b. the amounts are limited, the first one or 2 players who get to the terminal and buy "win" the rest are out of luck
Heck there was even a computer modification which would skip the tedious docking requirement which I once used to beat an NPC to market. Although he got in the station first right in front of my nose, I overtook him while he was landing and made the sale.
Trade is 10% exciting finding/getting the best buying/selling price, and 90% tedium moving the damned boxes. The more obstacles put in a players path the more that becomes 8%/92%, then 5%/95%, then 2%/98%...
I honestly don't know how they can make the magic happen, I only had fun in SC trading by finding a good trade route and grinding it until that route got nerfed.
Early days yet, still a long way to go.
