I honestly feel that this ship and it's modules are a stop gap measure to placate owners of other ships that are backlogged by giving this ship as a loaner with the corresponding module.I'm getting annoyed about this. We are waiting since years for more info about modularity and now they have to make a concept to "revisit" the topic. Seriously? I'd much prefer seeing an actual implementation with ships that are already there and were advertised to be modular than another pipe dream I can get hiped about and spend money on. They should bloody deliver modularity on the Avenger, Caterpilllar, Tali etc. instead. I can perfectly understand the numerous topics rising up in spectrum right now about finishing concepts. I'm getting fed up with this as well.
I think this will be more expensive than the Caterpillar, Tali and certainly the Avenger and definitly not be granted as loaner for those.I honestly feel that this ship and it's modules are a stop gap measure to placate owners of other ships that are backlogged by giving this ship as a loaner with the corresponding module.
Nope. I forgot about the Vanguard but pretty sure the Avenger at some point was meant to be modular instead of being divisioned into variants. When you say Avenger, you mean Vanguard instead for modularity @Ploeperpengel ?
I think with modularity the reason we havnt seen it implemented on those already completed ships is they released them way to soon to really implement them. So they will have to go back to those already completed ships and redo everything pretty much just to get it to work with whatever their objective is with modulation.(This is much much harder then just starting a concept with a drawn out full plan before even sending it to white box phase. I'll bet originally they just were going to do modulation with swapping out the entire ship hull(might as well be another varient at that point which i think is what happened for all these other ships when they realized it was a waste of time) vice just a section of it. i'm looking forward to this to be honest but i do worry about the price. Seeing the size of the C8x comming out of the ship i feel like this is going to be a smaller ship around the 600i size. i was hoping for a capital ship.So the Galaxy is an opportunity to pledge not only for a new, large ship but also several modules?
Well, I have to say that the Galaxy's design looks great! I like the RSI styling. Also glad to hear about the refining and medical potential of this ship.
But I also agree with Ploeperpengel. While I understand the coolness potential of modularity, CIG's previously-sold modular ship promises remain so very unimplemented. So I can see how selling yet another modular ship before they've implemented one of the others might be poking a hornets' nest of modularity dissatisfaction in parts of the community who feel past sales are unfulfilled.
I'm good to grab a next RSI ship but not much excited to back ship modules again, at least without seeing more progress on the older promised modular ships.
I have a couple I play with (not so much anymore) and they never understood the value of team-ups. ALLLLSSOOOO I believe part of the problem was when we would get all together we would have 30k after 30k.Love the look, interesting modularity. Being sold as a team focused ship.. do what you like.
Looks like having a Pisces along side the bikeI'm glad it has a hangar, wasn't mentioned in the leaks I believe, only something about being able to have a bike or something.
This makes it a bit more compelling for me.
I'm not a fan of overcrowding i guess thats why i love origin so much.I absolutely love this ship. It’s just what the doctor ordered-an RSI version of the Carrack. Every manufacturer ought to aspire to build on this scale. Still, I am disappointed by the work so far.
Where are the Electronic Warfare, and Command and Control modules? Where are the ordinance and vehicle transport modules? I want to see a super big dish that carves out S5 supercap sensors. Where’s that?
IMHO, they need to appeal to the Carrack crowd but say “hey, ours is better”. Trouble is, it’s not better. I do prefer remote turrets and having more crew on the bridge, but this bridge sucks. Terrible use of space. Needs a 5th station. Bulky, unwieldy workstations that waste room. No storage. No holoviewer. No stellar cartography suite. No drone bay. An inadequate armory. Do just six people need a pool table? And if its a crew of six why does it only sleep four? Just lots of simple objections here.
I’m a huge fan of many wedge-shaped Star Wars ships like the Vigil and Raider corvettes, the Armada and Arquitens light cruisers, most of the many Sienar destroyers. This has the look! I think though, this needs to be loaded to the gills with cool perks and I’m not getting that from this. CIG is gonna want $800 or so for this so they should have started by saying it will fit two ship’s boats like the Aurora. They didn’t. That says they’re taking our patronage somewhat for granted.
They’re busy guessing how many millions they’re going to make off this ship. They shouldn’t be holding back from making real commitments. Makes them seem spineless.
I’ll guess this will be released in 2028, but here, take my money! I hate you CIG!
