New cargo stats update has been applied to the ships, hopefully this update lasts longer than a week this time.
FU = "Freight Units" (old)
SCU = "Standard Cargo Units" (new)
Tier 1 ($60 range): You've got a good selection of ships which can haul AND multi-role, as is the case with the 315p and Avenger. So before you buy the Hull-A for 60 bucks, maybe consider if you'll be interested in bounty hunting and/or exploration too with the addition of superior firepower propulsion and avionics. If you're only hauling <48 SCU and you don't own many ships, I wouldn't bother personally. I'd go for the Avenger or 315p (6 SCU), or even the CL (23 SCU) for style points.
Tier 2 ($100 range): I picked the generic haulers of the Freelancer and Cutlass series, but their variants do well too. If hauling is your passion then there really isn't any competition in the $100 range. Though if you're willing to cut your cargo size down drastically (cutlass supporting 32 SCU and the Max at 123) you gain a LOT more versatility and the firepower to explore dangerous space, but this is about hauling and if hauling is what you're looking to do and you're sticking to secure space or have some broskies to escort you, then the Hull-B is king in this price range based on SCU alone at 384 SCU.
Tier 3 (200'ish+ range): Lots of choices, but again, sooo much versatility in this range. The Hull-C is an attractive choice for hauling. I previously stated that you should skip the C if you have a Starfarer or a MM you may want to consider skipping the C. It is worth noting, however, that the Starfarer may be restricted to fuel and refining so we'll need more info on that. The MM houses a possible 5017 SCU compared to the C's 4608 so keep that in mind. These numbers are subject to change.
Pro Tier: If you got money or you're dead-set on hauling no-shit SCU's around a video game then this is what you're lookin at. The D supports 20736 SCU currently and the E 98304, which dwarfs the Orions standard SCU capacity of only 216 if you were to throw it into this category.
FU hauling Conclusion:
- The Hull-A is attractive if you're looking to make cash trading right away.
- If you have a MM already, you can probably skip the C all together.
- Hull D is best choice for serious freight but at this point and is where we begin to see the most obvious gains over other ships currently available.
- Hull E for the lolz, make sure you solo in dangerous space with a full load and everything streamed through Twitch.tv.
- Check defense capability before you buy and remember the Hull series is a dedicated as fuck hauler.
- These stats have been changing almost daily.
- I have no idea what I'm talking about.

So let's compare, or fucking try to correctly!Hull-B it is. Feels Like I was waiting for it now since they first announced it for the 34 Million $ stretch goal.
As Haligan linked forward to:
"PLEASE NOTE: The Hull series measures carrying capacity in Standard Cargo Units, or SCU. The SCU value for previously released ships can be determined by dividing the total capacity by four. Meaning that the 600 Cargo Capacity is 600 SCU, as far as I understand it.
If you got to divide the Cargo capacity of the Avenger by 4 (32/4=8 SCU), then there would theoretically be purpose for the Hull-A, otherwise I would agree with Tooterfish.
With the freelancer max it would make a cargo capacity of 280 into 70 SCU, which is nothing against the 600 of the Hull B.
Would the freelancer really have that small of a cargo space in comparison to the Hull?
I guess they might still adjust some capacity stats here going forward, otherwise I foresee some Freelancer being probably a bit annoyed about the $/SCU comparison.
Hull B = 108 $ = 0.18 $/SCU
Freelancer = 132 $= 3.14 $/SCU
Freelancer Max = 168 $ = 0.60 $/SCU
Based on the base rate per SCU i went for the Hull-B.
The jump from 75 Cargo Capacity from Hull-A a to 600 was just to massive, for not going with the Hull-B.
Btw, ... just in case you now wonder
Hull A = 1.04 $/SCU
Hull B = 0.18 $/SCU
Hull C = 0.05 $/SCU
Hull D = 0.019 $/SCU
Hull E = 0.004 $/SCU
