    re: Polaris Update Video

Looking at the video again, it looks like the crew size is 10 including the aircrew and ground crew for the carried craft. That seems, like the Carrack, short handed. Commander, Pilot, 1xEngineer, 6 turrets, torpedo room operator, subcraft pilot, EW (it is a Capital Warship), Corpsman...

The guns look like they got upsized, hence my comment.

    re: Polaris Update Video

I like it, because my Tali can now pop it without it being able to shoot down my torps. The offensive power was supposed to be the Torps, the turrets were supposed to be, primarily, defensive. Size 5 are not defensive turrets unless we are going with another round of power creep.

The Development History of SC Modularity (Video)

"Hey! Sometimes a little technobabble is good for the soul!" Captain Jack Harkness, Torchwood. The technobabble that the Star Citizen Devs spew to excuse delays is just a tried and true Sci-Fi trope.

Some thoughts on the RSI Galaxy for $350

The Retaliator Base, without modules, has inaccessible void space where the modules would be, according to the Q&A. Given that, I wouldn't count on being able to traverse that space without a module. Flying without a module is probably not a good idea, however it is, likely, to be one of the...

Some thoughts on the RSI Galaxy for $350

The modules are implied to be easy to swap, not needing a shipyard. It isn't a refit. However that is a consideration.

Some thoughts on the RSI Galaxy for $350

After looking again at the Galaxy, the module is definitely larger than the XXS hangar. Therefore the module doesn't fit in a Herc, Liberator, or Caterpillar and is significantly larger than the boxes on the exterior of any of the Hull series. How do you move the modules if you want to relocate...

Some thoughts on the RSI Galaxy for $350

The Retaliator and Caterpillar both are modular where you and 5 friends go out and do a variety of missions. The Cat is more cargo focused while the Tali is more combat focused than the Galaxy. All three have cargo. All three are supposed to have Medical. All three have more modules enroute...

The Retaliator stayed as our single large crew ship. I get it. :)

Some thoughts on the RSI Galaxy for $350

The issue is the size of the module and, for the Liberator if you can carry it as a ship/vehicle instead of as cargo. It appears to be larger than the XXS hangar.

Arrow is either the smallest ship that doesn't fit or the largest one thst does, probably.

Some thoughts on the RSI Galaxy for $350

The Galaxy makes compromises that don't appear to make sense. The weapons loadout is poorly thought out, specifically: Size 5 is anti-large ship, but it is clearly not a combat vessel so needs defensive turrets, which means size 4. The module appears too large to easily transport. It appears...

It has been a stated boundry and an implied boundary. Of course everything is subject to change, but changing this boundary invites significant power creep.

But they've also stated that weapons and sizes have specific purposes and the differentiation will be based on role. And the Anti-Fighter/Anti-Ordinance role has been defined as size 4 and under.

I've never seen them downsize a gun. Upsize, lots, but not downsize.
