    'Fleeting' Glance

Last year I did something similar, with a different focus. I reorganized my fleet and my wife's fleet. The primary purpose was to cut crew requirements on our fleets. The introduction of the Liberator also loosened the rule on number of short ranged craft in the fleet we were going to have. We...

    RSI Galaxy Screenshots and speculation

Given what they've told us about intended direction for space combat, the Galaxy just doesn't feel like it is armed correctly. It's 3 turrets with 2 size 5's each means the intended weapon use is to strike large ships, but the ship clearly isn't designed for combat. To defend the ship against...

The Liberator isn't a base, it is a transport ship. While we don't know the final dimensions, those 400 SCU in the Liberator, should be able to haul Torps. The Starfarer, in its current configuration appears to have a cargo hold that can haul torps as well.

That is why I have a Liberator. Carry our small ships, personal inventory and carry our modules for my Retaliator and our Vanguards to move to a new base of operations. You are definitely tied to a base of operations with a modular ship though.

Unless this is much cheaper than the Carrack, I don't see the appeal.

I doubt this will be the first modular ship. The first 3 are, highly, likely to be the Retaliator, Vanguard and 600i. (In that order).

Ship naming - "my name is..."

I would think Heart of Gold would be an appropiate choice.

25th Anniversary of the Death of the Rodger Young

I definitely prefer the Book to the movies. (And I own all of the movies and the Roughnecks TV series.)

You can't wait, but you are obviously waiting. I get it, that reality isn't your thing. That's OK. Your whataboutisms, don't make what CIG is doing right. If this was your forum, I would have been long gone. The person whose forum this is has demonstrated he wants me to stick around.

The foundational stuff isn't done, 11 years in. Without the foundation done you can't build a game. Like building a house on a foundation of shifting sand.

Those are end goals for server meshing, so it does matter and defines when server meshing is "done."

    I give up.

You can't have a sense of urgency when deadlines are constantly missed and there are no consequences. You also can't have a sense of urgency when the boss says, "it'll be done when it's done."

So then what is the number of simultaneous players on a "shard?" What is the size of a shard? How is a shard to be measured? (And that's just server meshing.) Non-specific, amorphous statements is not defining an end state by which you can measure progress.

Lockheed also brought in the C-141 upgrade under time and under budget. The C-5, on the otherhand, due to a moving target of what the end goal was, had cost overruns that were legendary.
