no turrets ever worked well, which is why no contemporary bombers include them.
Speed and height is what always got 'em through, and that's what got them supplanted by IBCMs and MLRS as the bombardment option choice, really.

Yes, ICBM’s are both cheaper and more reliable than things like the proposed Blackbird Bomber and XB-70 Valkyrie, but missiles don’t actually replace all bombers, so we still have the B1, B2, B21 and B52. The turrets are gone, however. We could see them return. A CIWS type turret on a stealth platform is always possible, just as it is for tanks, but it would likely not require a crew member. The reaction speed and precision would likely require automation.

Naw, ya'll are being way overly critcal. Things are already great the way they are. Here's how I routinely love to use both ships.

- Carrack is fine either solo or with a buddy. If solo, just park or land it and then take your Pisces/M50/85x/Fury/TIE-Fighter out to do the dirty work. I've been having great fun running bounties that way and then bringing in the Carrack to loot the wreckage. Plus if you fuck up and die, just respawn 30km out, grab your backup Fury, and you're right back at it!

- Corsair works WONDERFULLY with a buddy. Put him in the copilot seat to use the top turret as a tail gunner with instructions to target fighters, while the pilot can focus on the larger prey. Oh, and did you know, the copilot can fire missiles - not just from the copilot cockpit - but ALSO FROM THE REMOTE TURRET? That's right, guns AND missiles, best co-pilot ship in the game right now!

Perhaps arm the drones after they've entered the game?
I have a feeling combat drones will not be a thing. Combat in SC much like starwars is much more akin to ww2 then any modern or true future combat would be. It's all in keeping with the fps game play mechanics to get players to engage each other in a fast pace struggle against each other with in the limitations of a visualy rendered computer world.

Fair, but then there are the mines that players can place & leave to do things to without the players being there to manage directly.

True but when you look at mines they act as a prestaging element vs an active combat element in so much the take time to place and thus change the battlefield shape much like picking ships and loadouts prior. Combat drones could be used as a sort of aoe effect.

Hollywood World War 2 not real World War 2. Star Wars and Battlestar Galactica appears to be the philosophy. TTK is very high for that though.

As I have no say in how things are done, created, controlled or regulated in Star Citizen, like most things, I do my best to enjoy what I can while working to overcome the things I don't. Yub nub, my friends.
Here here! To think how many countless hours we have enjoyed in this unfinished game. Even when all you could do was drive around a hanger at look at the outside of partially completed ships. Or trying to land on asteroids that existed as set dressing around Port Oolisar.
