Good news is that death rates are still very low, but there is also typically a 2-3 week delay between spikes in cases and increasing death rates.

This is because the whole state has mandated mask-wearing irrelevant of vaccine status starting Friday, Aug 6th hours after CDC's announcement.

This has been a growing concern that my doctor friends are talking about. It is still not known if they are starting to see a rise in the number dying or simply just getting very sick and in the current climate parents being far more protective reactive, especially given the vaccine age has only been recently reduced to 12.
