Now I need to look at buying a Liberator in order to carry a Prospector and Vulture out into the void for days on end.... lol
I'd say let it marinate a couple more days in the PTU a bit before hopping in. I believe it was released in the state it was in because they were under pressure to have something out before the end of the year.this looks cool, thanks for keeping my hype up! I want in!
Thats awesome to see, not a mechanic i'm interested in but great to see this progress :-)Here is some more salvage action. Seeing them work with the Hull A wants me to get a salvage fleet together with a couple Vultures and a Cat to load the cargo into. Probably want to take at least one escort out there too, as I've run into some NPCs that have jumped me in my Vulture.
It may be refactored in the future, it could be highly priced to entice players to do it, so they can test it.Wow. Is it just me, or does this seem kinda excessive? I mean, it's not quite as much as a prospector full of quantanium, but you also don't need to spend an hour looking for that rare & decent rock to mine. Nor do you need to wait for the refinery cycle either.
I suppose they'll tweak it like they always do.
Yeah nice, I also like that you can use the compactor to spit out a repair canister for using with your multi-tool.And my streak of crashing as I'm finishing up a load of salvage remains unbroken today. After three days I've seen zero profit.
Anyhow, some tidbits I've picked up:
Salvage modes:
Your different beam modes differentiate between radius, speed, efficiency. Your smallest (Cinch) is small and slow but will net you more overall salvage. Abrade is large and fast, but you end up with a bit less. I think the Reclaimer has a third mode, Trawl, which I don't have any experience with yet.
Also, if you see an Avenger, those are almost not worth the time. Usually, I'll just give those a quick pass with Cinch, then blow it up to get rid of the marker. I've found a couple of A2's which were good, and heard some people found 890j's. But the ones I really love are these large scrap plates. They often come in sets of three. And where one Avenger might get me about one crate worth, a single plate will fill up a good portion of my hold. If it's in the set of three, those will about fill me up to capacity by themselves.

Can you? I haven't even gone out to find the multi-tool attachment to use yet. I'll have to try it out sometime in the next couple patches. Surely, I can't crash on EVERY single salvage run.... right?Yeah nice, I also like that you can use the compactor to spit out a repair canister for using with your multi-tool.
Yeah saw it on the vid I posted I think. The guy goes down to the hold and there's a button on the compactor that will "create a can" or a similar description. If you have scrap in there it will do it, then use it like a tool attachment for repair. Can you? I haven't even gone out to find the multi-tool attachment to use yet. Wow never thought of that, that sounds like an awesome idea.ok, now i have to unmelt my hull A. wondering if you can fly a hull A through a debris field of a ship and it pick up floating loot boxes?
Yeah saw it on a vid, one guy tractoring out processed cubes and sticking straight onto the Hull A, was pretty efficient looking.Wow never thought of that, that sounds like an awesome idea.
I'm glad only that I'm not the only one having problems with 3.18.So after having boxes that didn't want to stack in my run today, or a tractor beam that didn't want to lock on, and a pilot seat that kept ejecting me out to space when I just wanted to stand up inside my ship.... I finally got my loaded Vulture back to the TDD terminal to sell! But now my cargo doesn't show up on the sell screens....
My quest to finish just one damn salvage run continues.
Last I had heard that isn't possible if the ships shields are up. I remember that being an issue that was resolved back when the Prospector could use it's mining laser as a weapon. Can salvage disintegration beams be used as a weapon during ship combat?
