so we can have on-planet warfare without just bombing everything from orbit

John Pritchard, the physicist that created IFCS had left his position at CIG last month. This was going to happen anyway.

The hardcore pilots are probably going to be pissed with the new flight model, that much we can expect.

That there is a good point - plus if you give a jackass credit for anything, it'll just bray even harder thinking thats the way to get things done.

So the current problem is "designers want the ability to have your ships turn fast", thats why they need high-g thrusters.
So if they take away those high g thruster ships will turn much slower

It is a bit unnerving how a huge starship like a reclaimer is pretty nimble gets up and goes like nothing. It should be like in real life when your at a red light next to a semi. Light turns green and in the rear view mirror the semi is still rumbling changing into gears slightly moving
