Errrrrm....nope.

Gotta go for another coffee.
It's a fairy tale for children. A little girl sneaks into the home of 3 bears and eats their porridge. Dad bear's porridge is too hot, mom bear's is too cold, and baby bear's porridge is just right. Then the bears come home and eat her (?). I guess the moral of the story is "don't be so picky when you're stealing food from bears."

Anyways, Oregon is not too hot, not too cold, just right.

Morning in Noord Holland. I never guessed that it would be so nice and sunny in Holland. I'm sorry that you had to take the bad weather this year on holiday Sam. We always holidays the last 3 - 4 weeks of the school vacation and since shorty is born, we didn't got further then Germany, this year Austria. The weather always was good. This year I feared for the worst, Austria in the mountains and Dutch coast with our bad weather.
Looks like you got the beach all to yourselves. Looks nice and relaxing. Did everyone else think it would be raining? Or is it just that secluded?

In the Netherlands the school holidays are divided in 3 parts. The North started school last week, the middle started school this week and the sunny south starts school next week. I don't know how it is arranged in Germany.

My arms, legs and face always are tanned early in the year. The rest must burn .
When the boys decide to go to the sea I don't have a choice. I could wear my boots.... naaah :D

So everyone was in class? Any stretch of beach like that near here would be always full of surfers, especially with the sun shining.
Looks worth the burn to me! :)

Its a a chaotic systems nobody really understands ;) In Germany, summer vacation lasts six weeks. The exact dates vary by state as well as from one to the next year, from the earliest (mid-June to late July) to the latest (late July to early September). This system is annoying and there were discussions to consolidate the time of vacations. But this let loose those people which income is based on the tourist season. Thus they spreaded the vacation times a little more. We were the first ones this year, starting the summer vacations at early June; the last state should start now, late August, with their summer vacations.
I totally understand the hotel owners etc. But nevertheless I - and lots of Germans as well - would prefer a more consolidated "core" vacation time instead of spreading this season over almost four months.

Morning all, hope your day is a great one!

BTW, I've been to Oregon many times, and I love Portland, but Vancouver, Washington (just across the River), and Victoria, British Columbia are just as nice.

Morning! Well, still feeling not well its not THAT great day. I'm more waiting for working days end, counting the minutes - not the best way to get through the day. But I can't afford more days of staying home because of sickness. Thus I'm here, having kind of cotton wool in the head instead of brains. Will leave early though, having enough extra hours on my card.

Hows your day going? Were you for business reasons in Oregon or were it vacation trips?
