Not the Carrack again, it's so boring... Sad that the Pisces didn't make it, but understandable. I hope the MSR takes it!

Woah woah, the Carrack is only boring with boring people. In fact, I recently found it very useful recently as the SOLE ship with a medbed that also has both a snub hangar AND cargo ramp for ground vehicles (890 lift is too damn slow), making those dangerous bunker missions MUCH more interesting/quick to recover from an untimely death! That said I would have also preferred the Pisces, but I'm all good with this very close final race!

Tbh I just don't get the hype around that ship. Never did. I know it's useful, to me it's looks kinda okay but nothing interesting, I've flown it like every time it was free, but too large and slow, it doesn't really fit my playstyle for now... I'm just not into it. MSR is way more sexy, usable when I go solo even, has a bunch of cool details.. (but having to take a lift from the ramp is annoying, it's not That big of a ship...)
I get it the carrack is great for group activities and so on, but this whole hype train has been going on for soooo long now it's getting really stale imo.


Anyways, with less than 19 hours to go, the Carrack is holding the lead with 200ish votes!
I think it will take it, the whole time this difference was there and didn't budge, those who really wanted to vote already did, I don't think it will change.

I think it will take it, the whole time this difference was there and didn't budge, those who really wanted to vote already did, I don't think it will change.

You know, the thing is this is probably people who aren't happy with an MSR because you have to walk to the back ramp or something silly like that. Like the Carrack is any easier.
Anyhow, it's a more exciting vote IMO. It could go either way in the time remaining, but the outcome of these contests are usually set once the initial votes are cast, so 1 hour maybe 90 minutes..

I used the freefly code to try the MSR and if you jump at the lift you climb up like its a ledge in a cave if that helps anyone?

Only 4 hours to go and the Carrack has keeched out a 497 vote lead, with the numbers at now at over 13k a piece has the pool of interested backers been tapped and there is no more in the tank to tip the balance away from the contender looking to reclaim its title?

The hype is mostly because of the Firefly(show)/Serenity(movie), the original model of the Carrack was based somewhat off the main ship from the show, but has drifted a bit from that design.

I think this makes it fairly clear there is no point voting for any explorer ship to be in the running that isn't the Carrack next year. It can be in a category all of its own and can vote itself out of the running ;)
