That is true, as a large org we will most likely be able to afford everything within the first 6 months of the game.

I own a Polaris for the TEST model making division. It's a sign of great honor to fight on the front lines shooting replica Hornets from the torpedo tubes.
That being said, I have a full weekend of endurance racing (Lucky Dog Endurance Series) so I will most likely miss the sale time since it's in limit qty... if I had a desire to purchase one.
However, I should build a replica Pioneer model and then send it out to various bar citizens for TESTies to sign. Its final arrive would be Montoya's house were it will live as a TESTiment to the pioneering nature of TEST squadron.

I'm reminded of my favorite line from Contact when considering this. "Why build one when you can have two for twice the price?"
We do not have any working professions in the game right now after 5 years in development with cargo in 3.0 still not working correctly in its very limited setup. I don't see them having fully implemented building/construction for at least 2 years considering we still need mining, salvaging, bounty hunting, exploration, and cargo that works when not in an internal hold (say on a Hull series ship). My point is, I don't see why anyone should buy this ship at this stage as it will remain unusable for quite some time.
I love this game and CIG, but we need some professions with gameplay to start showing up soon before we are expected to spend more money.

I am going to throw shade at CIG but this is kind of P2W more so than buying superiority fighters or even an Idris because of what this ship can do (IMO this new ship is the most important ship). I won't go into anymore ranting or anything just stating.
But do we need one as TEST? Yes. We're going to need a base of operations and a ship that can set up a base day 1 that would give us quick access to resources,mining nodes and a general hub of testies building up the empire would be really nice, and as most orgs with bigger ambitions are going to be doing this also. It will now come down to scouting out which planet you want to build your outpost on and getting to it first and dropping your flag. So yes we need one if it can do what is speculated.

Another radical idea- we take 10 dollars and invest in 25 year Certificate of Deposits in secure, low % stock.
By the time the ship is in game it should be enough to buy one outright.

I say we all buy one, then put up outpost all over every planet, moon, large rock. just like Star Bucks Tm. we can call them TEST Tees, and sale Beer and Bacon.
That would be sweet!
But I feer it will survive about 2 days before my 3yr old wants to test its flight capabilities!
A true TESTie... give him a few more years and you can get that time down to a few minutes!
Imagine how many villages we could spring up over night with 50 Pioneers and Hull E's....
