It's a cool ship, not really worth the asking price some people as asking 2nd hand due to the fact you can't melt it plus its account bound after that.
We don't know if the ship will ever be "buyable" or attainable in game sorta like the AMD version of the Mustang so it does have that cool factor in my eyes.
I like the fact the ship does come with the game so if you were to give it to a friend like I did one of my codes they are able to jump right in and test the waters before dumping money into the game like we all do.
The drives on the other hand are so so for the price you pay and there are better alternatives out there.
Finally I got mine. Thanks @Doyzer
Welcome to the Raven club
Where is that?
They don't do that now. They will charge the returning person about $200 for the used claim form, I got mine no problem, USE eBay and PayPal.
in the Verse
I'm glad I bought mine. Though when I bought it, I had no idea that the ship only has 2 months insurance and included the game with 1,000 UEC.
The ship is fun to fly. I hope that this is the ONLY way to get this ship, otherwise it wasn't worth it to me.
The drive. I got 990p version that plugs into the pci-e slot. I didn't like the way the M2 adapter works, as far as cable management. I have in on a MSI Z87 G45. This board is too old to boot the drive but sees the drive as storage. I plan to buy a new board/CPU/Ram. My 'play' money is going to ships for now, upgrade the machine later.
up there, in the dark
what are we doing on ebay?
Scienceing the things, I think?
oh gross..... ebay is like the $2 prostitute of websites. Everyone knows you only go there if you want to get digital crabs.
Took the plunge and bought it. Should be here next week. The sale was ending in 12 hours so I figured I'd go ahead and get it.
My SSD will be here Tuesday. I'm looking forward to it.
Does the fact the Raven has a medium Quantum tank instead of the small in the other two variants mean it has a greatly extended range?
I didn't know this comes with the game package. Now I am thinking I might start with one.
I would think longer range, not greatly extended range.
I am curious if we'll be able to remove one of the EMPs and replace it with enhanced scan, and what the consequences of that might be.
I'm wondering if it would make a good spotter for the Polaris, and have a little EMP punch besides.
Getting back to the root question "how is the raven?" well right now it is very OP. but that is going to change, CIG has stated that EMP is not working as intended right now. why? well, I can fly up to any ship and get off a fully charged EMP burst every few seconds, meaning I can keep any ship out of power for as long as I want. Case and point, we had an AI pirate Caterpiller come around PO, I flew out and kept it out of power for over 2 mins as another testie spawned, got his tali, launched a torp at max range, 30 seconds later the torp hit blowing up the Caterpiller that never really had a chance to do anything. With the broken state of dogfighting in 3.0 I can sit there matching the speed of a target as it drifts away with now power and destroy it very fast. I am sure it could 1v1 any ship in the game right now (besides the other EMP able ship, then it is just who can land an EMP blast first) as for future, who knows.
Have you done any tests to see if ships you pulse all go down for the same length period of time, the maximum burst radius, how much of the ship needs to be inside the radius, etc? I think there has been some language that because larger ships have their computer cores such a great distance from the periphery of the ship, you cannot for instance burst an Idris. Any idea if this is true? and generally to target a ship for a burst, do you go as close to the bridge as possible?
