I think the Tali will be a great ship for destroying starfarers and hull D/E as they are capital ship sized so the capital ship torpedoes should work on them! :O

Today I tested the 350R. Let's put it this way, the ship looks cool, has the right colors, is fast but is not my kind of ship. My first wave with the stock Omnisky IV was so bad that I aborted the mission... that was my first time!!! I replaced the Omnisky with 2 CF-117 and one CF-227 and then it became better.
Its advantage is speed and durability but you can't use that to kill, guns kill, speed and durability keep you alive, missiles are.... euhm.... I actually don't use them allot.... when i'm almost busted then I remember that I still have some missiles and better can use them before I'm gone. When I don't have guns I try to stay as long as possible in game so the Vanduuls can use me as target practice instead of shooting at my companions, maybe a ramming before I'm obliterated.
If the 2 missile racks could be replaced with fixed gun emplacements, then I certainly would buy a 300 series and it would be the 350R for it's good looks (Black / Yellow attracts me somehow). With 3 guns it just doesn't has enough fire power. It is fast, compared to its speed very maneuverable (just hit the boost and let it loose before you black out) and can have a hit.
I've stated it before and I will state it again: the ship is choosing the player, not the player the ship ;) Since I've bought the 350r, pimped her, I only needed a couple of minutes to learn her ride - but the bottom line is: where I always *wanted* to love (and handle) the Avenger, the 350r was love at first sight. Within Arena Commander I'm mostly above the 50% line and in a fight with four, five KI-pirates most often I even don't need any repairs. Its a beast of a ship, stable and deadly with its three Ominskys. That said, I'm unsure how this balance will change within the upcoming patches. I've read that physical damage now blasts directly through the ships hulls and even possibly hurting/killing the pilot, ignoring any shields. That could change cards in favor of the Avenger (I will then try to install a gun with physical damage on the nose of the 350r :D).
Most pilots are in favour with the Sabre. I don't like her. Looks cool, but from the beginning I wasn't able to handle her. Same with the Warden. A praliné for the eyes, she is a sluggish cow within dog fights. But there are pilots who swear on her and claim to successfully pass the Vanduul Swarm in less then eight minutes!
I'm curiuous what ship will be your favorite at the end...? :)
Am I stupid for thinking about melting my Starfarer($300 CCU value) for $195 because I'm worried it will be too large/awkward for solo play? Any ship I could CCU to is even larger. I am scared. Help me, testies!

Btw.: imho Chris Roberts is well aware of the fact why WoW was such a successful MMO - because at that time it was the first MMO which you could play a 100% on your own. You *could* it play as MMO, but don't had to. That said, CR/CIG will do everything within their powers to build even the small multicrew ships as playable singleplayer-based experience by using KI-based NPC. I've good faith in that.
I used to feel the same way about the large ships, but TEST has you covered. You will find no end of people willing to fly with you within this squadron.
So don't stress about having paper weights or climbing frames. Buy what you want, and enjoy the game brother.
