Dammit.
Every time I "finalize my fleet", I change my mind.
Why are ships so hard?
Current Fleet (Star-G), with 4 x Dragonflies. Ship value: $1095
fleet.png

My hope is that I'll be able to upgrade the Beerfarer Gemini to the Carrack for $10. Assuming the Carrack goes on sale again for $350.

Thinking I want to end up with this...
Proposed Fleet. Value: $1225
fleet (2).png

I already own a Redeemer to Carrack upgrade, so there's $100 I don't need to spend.

However,
I really don't need 2 dogfighters, so the Sabre *could* disappear, leaving me with: $1055 Value (+ 1 Dragonfly = $1090)
fleet (3).png

Hmmmm.

So yeah. I have no questions. Just putting my thoughts down. That is all.

Cheers,
Owl

I came to the conclusion that without a computer capable of running the game, i had to limit myself to just 3 ships. I got the Avenger Warlock for the pewpewpew, an Aurora for the Glory Of Test and a Taurus to do all my space hauling and bum kicking if i have to.

Then the Dragonfly comes out and i thinks - that'd really go with the Taurus...

Damn it all.

Advice for you: None.

Guess you need to put your 'thinking face' on and see where you end up. Well, until you change your mind again! Would you really prefere a Carrack to the Gemini? No shortage of Carracks to borrow or crew on sonny!

PS...Ive seen better shitposts from you....

What I am about to say may seem off topic to the original post, but as people chop and change their ships, would a registry here on this site help to see what we have, and where we might be lacking in a perticualr area, like mining ships, escort ships, repair, refuel, troop transport... and then their availability...

As a organisation, how many StarFarers do we have? has anyone actually put down a list or spreadsheet of all current ships we as a whole *every ACTIVE member of Test*, actually have?

It might serve to help in forming squadrons / fleets / wing men etc.... for example a person with a starfarer refueller in a GMT timezone, would not help if the rest of their fighter ship squad is in an american timezone and they are offline asleep when needed..

Maybe just putting a popup poll on login to this site, over a weekend just to ask the group, what timezone, what ships do you have / plan to get... then assign a fleet designer to take all the information from the poll, and put together resourses where best served...

Just a thought anyway.... as you were... o7

Good minds think alike I see. I proposed this in a thread awhile ago but not seen any action from the moderators. The easiest solution to this for a ship indication from members is for the moderators to pull spreadsheet of all members listed ships. Ofcourse this would rely on the fact people keep their profile up to date.

Still waiting on a result, think its considered low priority as the word is "between every member there is no shortage of any ship". Regardless it would still be interesting to see.

It is a point of view. I have a bunch of fighters, a few close range dogfighters, a few fast zoom and boom fighters and a few "heavy" fighters.
The Buccaneer for sure is a fun close range dog fighter with allot of firepower, but if the battle gets tough and there is more at stake then your own Buccaneer, then I would choose a more durable fighter like the Sabre, Super Hornet or the Gladiator. Every ship has its own purpose in the verse.
It also depends on the distance of the battle. If it is possible, I would fight until the bitter end, respawn in a new fighter and continue the battle.

It's a damn good thought @Jake Skyrunner. A really good thought.

It is a point of view. I have a bunch of fighters, a few close range dogfighters, a few fast zoom and boom fighters and a few "heavy" fighters.
And I do like my fighters. I think I want to acquire a Redeemer as my heavy.
then I would choose a more durable fighter like the Sabre, Super Hornet or the Gladiator.
Truth. Different ships for different roles.
I would fight until the bitter end, respawn in a new fighter and continue the battle.
Good point. I never thought of this. More than one fighter for this reason alone.

When I first backed SC, nearly 2 years ago (gosh, has it really been that long?), I said to myself "I'm only gonna get an Aurora package. I'll get the rest when the game is out.". Expected spending: $45

Since then, my hangar has been expanded to:
-Drake Dragonfly 2-pack (contains 1 Dragonfly Yellowjacket and 1 Aurora LN)
-MSC Reliant Kore (although technically I didn't buy this one)
-Drake Cutlass Black
-Drake Buccaneer
-Drake Caterpillar
-Fishtank
Total spending: $631

No regrets...

It's called Consumerism.

We were all raised with 'Bigger, Brighter, Better' stick in our faces all day, every day.
Also, we still maintain that 'Mine is Bigger (Better) than Yours' attitude.
In the 50s and 60s it was called 'Keeping up with the Jones'.

What we lack, because it so easy to have, is Self-Control.
We are never satisfied and always want what others have (not realizing they are doing the same thing).
Envy is not your friend.

Beer is good.
Friends are Great.

Ah Hell, just buy the ships.

Cosmic, this is by far the best statement I've seen in quite some time that I think applies to everyone. Thank You

And I do like my fighters. I think I want to acquire a Redeemer as my heavy.
Looking at the ship stats a Star G is actually a bigger gunboat compared to a Redeemer.

3s3, 2s4, 1s5 of the G
Vs
2s2, 3s3, 2s4 of the Detmer.

The Star G is about 300kg heavier but with bigger engines. Also the G is armor plated, has a secondary fuel function, tons more cargo, and able to replace nose scoop with missile launchers that the Detmer, again, doesn't have!

Now the G does have a max crew of 7 vs 5, but for the added function I think the G is an all around better ship.
