@Grimbli yea, but once they simulate fuel in those containers, its a flying bomb, a couple good hits on the fuel tanks and the ship is done. Not to mention, the Redeemer is faster, and more capable as a gunship because thats what it is designed for, plus, the redeemer will be able to easily dock for boarding actions, the starfarer is 10x as big and wont be anywhere near as capable, plus the starfarer will get its manueverability nerfed in upcoming patches. And im sure weapons will go through a few repasses on both ships.

Well the buccaneer and the sabre overlap in terms of function (fighter combat boom boom) so you do only need one of them really.

Not a salesman, I suck at that, I'm a little theorist, comparing ships is my specialty.
I will give you the fact that the Starfarer is bigger and less manueverable, but those tanks I believe are armored. Also, the G has a larger power plant and TWO size four shields. The Redeemer has a single size 6. We'll have to wait and see how that plays out.
Redeemer hasn't been passed over to go with the new system for shields yet either. Plus the Star G has a bigger plant because its HEAVIER, and like i said will be way less manueverable when it gets a repass for balance. but we really cant say 100% because A. the redeemer isnt flyable yet, and B. they have to repass both ships at least once more

Absolutely true, although I think you meant to say engines are bigger cause it's heavier.
The G is more of a stationary turret than a mobile weapons platform. I would expect the G to win in a fight though. However, if you're looking for offensive power the Redeemer wins simply because it is more mobile. The G seems to be a more defensive ship.
I fully believe a G flanked by two Redeemers and then several fighters around them would be an insane escort! I wouldn't see much in the engines room, but I'm sure the fighting will be glorious!
