I have not followed all the rumor about the "game changing ship" but could it not be the Reclaimer? it is due out soon and indeed, it would open up all manner of new game dynamics. The 600 is new and anticipated, but does the rumor about the "game changing" ship include that it is unanticipated?

Just a few more days before we get to know for sure right? I forget how the schedule is laid out.
I think it was friday for the reveal but we might get a Thursday peek thanks to pre sales.
We can't fill that order until the nurse gives you a perscription.
It looks like a ship from Robotech, Mospeada (new generation, or third series) or some other Macross derivative.

CIG missed the boat here. They should be doing at least one big reveal today, so that they are the focus of everyone from the first day of the con. They should not be looking to wait their turn for attention and glory, but literally eclipsing everyone and everything around them in order to gain new players.

Only 2 variants though is kinda interesting. Maybe one is luxury and other is exploration.
Some of the adds do seem to indicate an exploration type vessel, or if not exploration, then extreme long range.
Reason 283 - Because no destination is ever too far from your origin
Reason 440 - BNecause you deserve a ship that's as exciting as the thrill of discovery
Reason 433 - Because Constellations mean nothing when you're the brightest star in the galaxy
This and the price points to a Connie sized ship with long range and possibly exploration possibilities.
I am not sure if this is a Phoenix competitor, but it might be an Aquila competitor, or a hybrid between the Aquila/Phoenix in terms of functions.
Now I am going to go completely off the deep end into speculation.
As many know, the Connie got a MASSIVE nerf in terms of speed and combat ability during/between the 2.5/2.6 patch series. Many people were extremely upset about this.
We also know that the Aquila will be flight ready in 3.0, but the Phoenix not until 3.3. Furthermore, there are a lot of people who think the Phoenix is...well, a walking porn set. Seriously, I can see a Hef-esque type of person sitting in a smoking jacket watching some ladies frolic in the hot tub. That said, the Phoenix is also an armored car with a stronger hull than the Andromeda and a point defense system to boot.
I can certainly see a longer range ship with exploration capabilities with the same type of pimp-mobile style and less combat capability. However, in exchange for the big guns on the Connies, I see S2/S3 gimble platforms and bigger/faster engines. Shields a bit less than the Connie, maybe armor too, but more of a speedster...able to keep up wtih or even outrun hornets and Sabres. The pure lux version will not be a long range with the same sensors, but maybe more pimped out on the interior.

I would expect it to have nice guns. Remember, it not only costs more than the Phoenix, but more than the BMM. I would be very surprised if it had less than 2 S5 turrets and decent missiles.
