Polaris is now hull limited as well I believe and must be purchased in full. The only ship that the Carrack can upgrade to without grey market is the Hammerhead, which I'm seriously considering.

I definitely need something to protect my fleet as I've got all noncombat ships.
You have a swarm of Aurora to protect your fleet. But in all seriousness, it's not bad to have all noncombat ships given the number of ships we collectively own. Like I don't own nor have any intention of owning a Prowler but I do look forward to being a grunt on one and finding myself being dropped onto a large ship that doesn't want us there.

Waiting on a Redeemer rework/update, I have a feeling its due now that the Prowler is kind of done. Should be interesting. Seems to me as the game goes on the prices are getting to people, I think its because they keep going up for something we were sold on years ago lol. Hey buy this concept Prowler for 380$ but when its finally done its gonna cost 425$ I don't get it personally what actually changed from the original concept design till now to warrant a 45$ increase? Some ships actually went up 100$. You can almost guarantee the Redeemer when its done will be over 300$ at this rate.
The concept was $425 the Warbond was $380, it will definitely be going up when it releases though.

Oh definitely, I'm not a dog fighter at all, but I am thinking of building my final fleet off two of the Exploration Megapacks. So I dont need 2 Carracks. I'd upgrade it to a Pioneer, but that's hull limited as well.

Hammerhead will at least be a good escort ship. I'm hoping it's good at killing fighters and small/medium ships. Turrets need to get better.

My only other combat ship might be a Hurricane.

Warbond is a whole other argument entirely, one we have all had and still disagree with. But lets exclude the Prowler from this. 600i, Carrack, Caterpillar, Aquila, Cutlass Red, 890 Jump, Defender, Eclipse, Super Hornet etc.. you get the drift, about half of the concept prices have gone up and I personally don't get it. Why was the 890 jacked up 300$? What made this ship so valuable other than it was simply the biggest ship in the game atm and CIG knew it would sell like hotcakes, just like the Carrack, they knew people would still buy them even with the price hikes, but I want to know where that value was generated from? The Carrack actually got smaller in size to fit more landing zones, the 890 as far as I can tell is the same damn ship it was when it went in to concept?

Can you CCU to the Polaris with new money or no CCU's whatsoever?

I believe hull limited means there are no CCUs whatsoever anymore. They can only be bought for their full amount (credit or cash). There was a picture going around where they say there are some ships still able to buy a CCU, but only during special sales, like anniversary sale, but not at any other time.

So if you want a Polaris you may need to go to grey market. Hopefully they haven't skyrocketed since it's no longer sold!

So possibly during the anniversary sale I could CCU a ship to the Polaris?

Do you realize right that this statement "a large ship that doesn't want us there" basically mean everty shipn in the 'verse.... oout ship included???

The reason is thatt the 890j hase all the things a capital ship should have: a med bay, capable of handling large number of players/NPC, ship hangar, ground veicles hangar, lots of weapons rack, a combat bridge that keep pilot, copilot and ship's commander safe.... plus the Origin luxury tax.
Our glorius leaadr has a video on a "org leader review" on a 890j and if you look the ship in this only prospective, it check a lots of boxes... that until the Idris, Javelin or other catial-size ship came into players hand, and I expect theyr price will be preatty hiught as well.

If it moved to "hull limited" no. From what I can tell the only >$600 ship that can be CCUd is Nautilus and the HH. All others can only be bought as stand alone ships with cash or credit, which means no more LTI.

I understand the size and capabilities of this ship, but nothing since its concept has changed other than the price, if this price was given at concept then what caused a 300$ price increase when virtually nothing spec wise changed on the ship since its concept design phase? Its the same size, it has all the amenities from its concept phase, all the armaments, addons, bells and whistles are there, the ONLY thing I have seen that has changed is CIG knew they could get more $$ out of this ship as well as the Carrack, they were both almost virtually exactly the same as their concept design why the price hike?

This was the promise though all along? Earliest access gives you the lowest price. It will only go up the longer you procrastinate!

Hmm, I didn't read through the whole thread, just the top few posts. I guess it's not hull limited, just regular limited sale. So it could be upgraded to as well come the Nov sale. There's a list on reddit of hull limited ships, a google search will bring it up, but I guess they didn't read either because they added the Polaris as one of the hull limited ships.

I have a couple of those packs hanging around in my buy backs too, I'm saving them for any potential new high price concept CCUs.

Also I have carrack to prowler CCUs addable to my cart in my buy backs for $25, which is strange as it's now negative value from the carrack.
That's horrible, yet strangely enticing. The Carrack is worth what, 200 more than the Prowler now?

I dunno, it might not be. The information I was using could be wrong. I think the reference they were using was a guy's Concierge message to CIG taken out of context. He might have been trying to buyback a Polaris that had been upgraded from another ship and they weren't going to let him keep the CCU he spent on it.
