- World: 54,184,358 confirmed cases and 1,314,904 confirmed deaths.

- World: Passes 54 million cases, we passed 53 on Friday meaning 1 million more cases in 2 days.

- Mexico: Passes 1 million confirmed cases.

- Greece: Closes primary schools (Elementary schools?) and limits public gatherings to no more than four (4) people.

- UK: Early results from the Coverscan initative to study otherwise yound healthy adults suffering Long Covid finds 70% of the 200 people tested have vital organ impairments "The good news is that the impairment is mild, but even with a conservative lens, there is some impairment, and in 25% of people it affects two or more organs,” [...] “This is of interest because we need to know if [the impairments] continue or improve – or if there is a subgroup of people who could get worse.” Further to this, "Preliminary data from a separate study of 58 patients who were hospitalised with Covid-19 similarly found abnormalities in the lungs of 60%; in the kidneys of 29%; in the hearts of 26%; and in the livers of 10% of patients, two to three months after the initial infection, as well as tissue changes in parts of the brain." indicating COVID-19, with long lasting internal organ effects, most definitely is not just another 'Flu. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/nov/15/damage-to-multiple-organs-recorded-in-long-covid-cases

- US: North Dakota becomes 35th state to require face coverings in public.

COVID Catharsis Corner - Reports from around the world from today, Monday 16th of November:

- World: 54,529,316 confirmed cases and 1,319,342 confirmed deaths.

- US: Vaccine news, and US firm Moderna reveals their vaccine is 95% effective and current trials indicate it is also effective for the elderly. The news has been welcomed worldwide however it was stressed that trials continue to establish safety levels. As well as being even more effective It is apparently also easier to transport, needing only minus 20 degreese centigrade to remain fresh for 6 months and can be kept fresh for about a month at +2 to +8 degrees centigrade - which sits in the range of a home refrigerator.

- US: Passes 11 million confirmed cases, with 10 million passed this time last week.

- UK: Places an order for 5 million doses of the Moderna vaccine.

- Sweden: Limits public gatherings to 8 people. As cases continue to rise the blame is put at the populations feet for not adhering to restrictions “This is the new norm for the entire society. Don’t go to gyms, don’t go to libraries, don’t host dinners. Cancel.”

- UK: Prime Minister in Self Isolation as he once again comes into close contact with COVID - this time having been in a meeting with an MP who later tested positive, without a mask and within two meters of them at least once during the 35 minute meeting. 6 other MPs and two aides also in self isolation. Although Mr. Johnson indicates he's feeling fine, he goes on to say "it doesn't matter that I've had the disease and I'm bursting with antibodies. We've got to interrupt the spread of the disease" which is fair enough - One also assumes the UK Government would have obtained some supplies of the artificial antibodies they used to treat President Trump during his brush with COVID-19 but that's only an assumption.

- UK: Announces another two "Megalabs" to open in 2021.

- Italy: New report suggests COVID-19 was in the country as early as September 2019.

- Belgium: Amnesty International accuses the country of abandoning thousands of the elderly to die in elderly homes refusing them treatment, indicating between March and October 61.3% of all COVID deaths in the country occurred in old-age communal accommodation homes.

- Jersey: Over the last three months COVID has established itself on the island, with 0 clusters in September climbing to seven now with multiple described as "sizeable".

- Iran: Sees record high new daily cases.

- Russia: Sees record high new daily cases.

We need to let the UN know this is the time to realign the entire world under a single dictatorship, where those who disagree will be gassed. Don't let a good pandemic go to waste.

“This pandemic has provided an opportunity for a reset. This is our chance to accelerate our pre-pandemic efforts to reimagine economic systems that actually address global challenges like extreme poverty, inequality and climate change,” Trudeau said.

So... like, who disagrees with addressing global challenges such as extreme poverty, inequality and climate change, man?

It would be interesting to see if there are other countries that can locate cases that far back. It's a coronavirus, so it would masquerade as a cold and nobody would have taken much notice.
...and on the other hand, since there are many types of coronaviruses, and all tests have false positives, there is always a possibility that the report is in error. There have been previous stories of "early" COVID-19 that never panned out. It will be interesting to see if any of those pre-December cases we keep hearing about ever pan out. So far, to my knowledge, none have.

You are at a 12, can we dial it down to about a 5?

It's not my place to say one way or the other. I just said it would be interesting to find out. Here is a link to the referenced report.

I've actually met Trudeau and several other Canadian politicians including my province's Premier.

The only gassing Trudeau does is silly stunts like this....

View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tRHNqRyaLcs

and when he thinks he'll be a gas by wearing blackface.

His politics can be misguided at times and he's prone to gaffs but 'Trudeau wanting the UN to gas those who disagree with them'?

What a Gas!

what the actual fuck is wrong with you?

Seriously, is this some sort of bit? Are you just pretending to be this dense so you can dramatically dispel the illusion at some later time like this is some sort of proactive satire piece?

Worth noting that as COVID-19 cases and deaths have increased, Sweden has started implementing tougher coronavirus restrictions...too bad they didn't do it earlier.
Sweden’s cases per capita are currently 10 times higher than Finland and four times higher than Norway. Last week, the rate at which people were being admitted into hospital was growing faster in Sweden than any other European country. And after several months of relatively low numbers of deaths, Sweden reported more than 100 in three days last week.

COVID Catharsis Corner - Reports from around the world from today, Tuesday 17th of November:

- World: 55,243,538 confirmed cases and 1,330,930 confirmed deaths.

- World: Passes 55 million cases, we passed 54 on Sunday meaning 1 million more cases in 2/3 days.

- US: Concerns are raised as handover cooperation is lacking effecting the process of transitioning from President to President Elect, with potential effect the countries COVID-19 response.

- Scotland: Restrictions increase for 11 areas including Glasgow effecting some 2 million people.

- US: Dolly Parton credited with some of the success of the Moderna vaccine, having donated $1 million to the Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville (Tennessee) for coronavirus research earlier in the year.

- UK: Police suspend £10,000 fines for large gatherings as concern about unequal treatment grows following reports of contesting the fines resulting in means-testing. Apparently some of the fined people just paid it off like it was peanuts, while others who would not be able to pay off £10k in 10 literal years were able to get means-tested and the fine adjusted accordingly. Personally, they should all be means tested and consist of a percentage of someones yearly income, with the percentage climbing higher the higher they earn. Apparently the desire is to go back right back to the Fixed penalty of £10k.

- Jordan: Sees record high new daily cases.

- UK: Prime Minister Johnson tests negative however continues to isolate as precaution.

- Austria: Second national lockdown comes into effect.

- UK: Passes 70,000 excess deaths over average.

- Denmark: Reaches agreement on legislation to make the Mink Cull legal, and ban Mink farming until 2022.

- Australia: 4000 people asked to quarantine as state of South Australia reimposes distancing measures as cluster of 21 cases uncovered.

Thanks for that linked article...it was very interesting! It is very possible that COVID-19 could have originated in Italy and been circulating months before we finally had & noticed an outbreak, and studies and reports like this are what we need. Over time, as we gather more evidence and refine our tests and keep looking, we may indeed find out that something like this is true.

However, like I said, this isn't the first time something like this has been reported...for various reasons (which may turn out to be not true!) I believe it likely did come out of the Wuhan area, because of their open-air meat markets, due to their slaughter methods...but I could be wrong! Imagine if COVID-19 did originate in Italy, and not China? People like @ColdDog would probably have a stroke...they'd have to start referring to it as the "Ragu-flu" LMAO

Here is an article that i found, in it they state:
Although genetic evidence suggests that SARS-CoV-2 is a natural virus that likely originated in animals, there is no conclusion yet about when and where the virus first entered humans. As some of the first reported cases in Wuhan had no epidemiological link to the seafood market22, it has been suggested that the market may not be the initial source of human infection with SARS-CoV-2. One study from France detected SARS-CoV-2 by PCR in a stored sample from a patient who had pneumonia at the end of 2019, suggesting SARS-CoV-2 might have spread there much earlier than the generally known starting time of the outbreak in France23. However, this individual early report cannot give a solid answer to the origin of SARS-CoV-2 and contamination, and thus a false positive result cannot be excluded. To address this highly controversial issue, further retrospective investigations involving a larger number of banked samples from patients, animals and environments need to be conducted worldwide with well-validated assays.
This article also had a nice diagram of the currently known "genealogy" of the SARS-CoV-2 virus...unless they do a lot of slaughtering and eating of bats and pangolins in Italy, it would seem unlikely it originated from there:

Its still way to early to make such judgments on Sweden's policy. Honestly its going to take until 2023 to have the numbers needed to make any sort of conclusion. For now the northern hemisphere is starting to see the expected large scale uptick that I will full expect to not peak until after feb of 2021.

I agree, in a impatient, me now society, it is hard to understand something further than a month or two, especially when there is a sense of false control. As I have always said, this is not over until it is over, if that ever comes. I would say 2026 would be a good time to do a post mortem.

I am not sure social distancing, masks, or quarantines work - I am not 100% sold. Reason is, even isolated people get the virus. How could an isolated instance still produce positive results - could it be the tests are defective, could it be another reason.

A study conducted by Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in cooperation with the Naval Medical Research Center sought to test lockdowns along with testing and isolation.

The Marines did not go anywhere, bleached the mess hall, cleaned their dorm rooms. As a former soldier, I know basic trainees never leave the program once entered. So, as much as I hate using our Marines as test subjects, this is better than an untested vaccine, this is a good example of a isolated population in a controlled environment.

In May, 3,143 new recruits to the Marines were given the option to participate in a study of frequent testing under extreme quarantine. The study was called CHARM, which stands for COVID-19 Health Action Response for Marines. Of the recruits asked, a total of 1,848 young people agreed to be guinea pigs in this experiment which involved “which included weekly qPCR testing and blood sampling for IgG antibody assessment.” In addition, the CHARM study volunteers who did test positively “on the day of enrollment (day 0) or on day 7 or day 14 were separated from their roommates and were placed in isolation.”

All recruits wore double-layered cloth masks at all times indoors and outdoors, except when sleeping or eating; practiced social distancing of at least 6 feet; were not allowed to leave campus; did not have access to personal electronics and other items that might contribute to surface transmission; and routinely washed their hands. They slept in double-occupancy rooms with sinks, ate in shared dining facilities, and used shared bathrooms. All recruits cleaned their rooms daily, sanitized bathrooms after each use with bleach wipes, and ate preplated meals in a dining hall that was cleaned with bleach after each platoon had eaten. Most instruction and exercises were conducted outdoors. All movement of recruits was supervised, and unidirectional flow was implemented, with designated building entry and exit points to minimize contact among persons. All recruits, regardless of participation in the study, underwent daily temperature and symptom screening. Six instructors who were assigned to each platoon worked in 8-hour shifts and enforced the quarantine measures. If recruits reported any signs or symptoms consistent with Covid-19, they reported to sick call, underwent rapid qPCR testing for SARS-CoV-2, and were placed in isolation pending the results of testing.
Instructors were also restricted to campus, were required to wear masks, were provided with preplated meals, and underwent daily temperature checks and symptom screening. Instructors who were assigned to a platoon in which a positive case was diagnosed underwent rapid qPCR testing for SARS-CoV-2, and, if the result was positive, the instructor was removed from duty. Recruits and instructors were prohibited from interacting with campus support staff, such as janitorial and food-service personnel. After each class completed quarantine, a deep bleach cleaning of surfaces was performed in the bathrooms, showers, bedrooms, and hallways in the dormitories, and the dormitory remained unoccupied for at least 72 hours before reoccupancy.

The lockdowners keep telling us to pay attention to the science. That’s what we are doing. When the results contradict their pro-compulsion narrative, they pretend that the studies do not exist and barrel ahead with their scary plans to disable all social functioning in the presence of a virus. Lockdowns are not science. They never have been. They are an experiment in social/political top-down management that is without precedent in cost to life and liberty.

Covid 19 --> science --> politics --> society. The problem with the equation is "politics". Politics is subjective, a generic application or interpretation of an event.

The Nazis controlled the conversation for nearly 20 years in Germany. 10 years later they found the first concentration camp.

The point is the Nazis where doing their horrendous work for the "greater" good of Germany. This is a struggle of the fundamental values of what we consider free in 2020.

This leads us to the issues of the day... covid 19 and global warming. There are scientists on both side of each of these, and we can choose, for now. In Germany in 1930, this was a black and white choice. Kind of resembles our positions today. Debate is great, but when one side claims the moral high ground, I have issues with, especially when it comes to free thought.

Father Kolbe lives on.
