So, Amandla Stenberg is out again, telling the fan base it is racist, misogynist and alphabet mafia phobic for all their complaints, despite almost none of the complaints reference these things. Victim card played for the day.

Personally, I would have respect for a spirited defense by Disney toward the critics, if it would just respond to the overwhelming majority of complaints concerning the shitty writing. Come explain why there appears to be a Sith when lore is a hundred years in the future the Jedi thought there were no Sith for a thousand years. There are hundreds of detailed complaints Disney could respond to. Why instead further alienate the base fans by claiming they are all bigots? I just cannot see how this particular tactic can help. Blaming the fans HAS to go wrong.

I have to also agree with Mike that deliberately choosing a cast and crew who know nothing about the franchise was pure madness. Charlie Barnett is a perfect example. The actor for the Yord character has misspoken on numerous occasions now, clearly demonstrating he was chosen for the character for his queerness, rather than his fitness as a Star Wars actor. That cannot lead to success, so why are they so surprised by their overwhelming failure?

I personally am convinced the reason failures like referencing “miles” in a Star Wars project could only have happened because Headlund deliberately chose an ignorant cast and crew.

Acolyte audience approval still falling, and now down to just 13% ! Easily the least loved Star Wars project ever, including the infamous holiday special.

So in short, Acolyte season 2 was cancelled over a year ago due to fan backlash against rumors of what Acolyte entailed. Amandla Stenberg did however have two other Star Wars projects she was signed on to with her character Osha. In response to the unauthorized release of her music video mocking Star Wars fans as bigots, Amandla has been fired from both those projects. So apparently the audience trolling was not authorized by Disney.

Just checked out this click bait video. It's four years old....BTW. Still doesn't change the fact that the Acolyte is a dumpster fire and so is Disney! Checking more in to this YT channel this guy looks like he is begging for followers.
Sure Disney….sucks these days along with much of the Star Wars franchise. No disagreement there. Doesn’t change the fact that this Mike Zeroh fellow commonly cited by a member of this community is a hack and a clickbait merchant.

Anyway this guy once claimed that Keanu Reeves will play Darth Revan in a KOTOR live action movie (lol). He also claims several times every month Kathleen Kennedy’s imminent firing. Reminds me of those doomsday pastors who scream that the world is ending……..any day now.

Just as bad as the climate activists for the last 40 years!
That's been recently debunked too, oil companies modelled the greenhouse effect near perfectly in the 70'a and then kept quiet about it:

And to pre-empt a possible response, please see this supporting evidence of the sun getting hotter theory and stratosphere temperature remaining stable which was pondered about in the 50's - if the sun was hotter the stratosphere would be as well but it's not:

I don’t think we need to have a climate change debate in this thread. If you’re so inclined start your own thread but expect it to get closed down.

Mike Zeroh does have his faults, but he reads the trades daily and reports on what’s happening. This hater doesn’t seem to understand that the trade publications are the primary source for entertainment news. Yeah, Zeroh has made some errors in his claims, but he’s right a lot more often than the competition, and puts serious time and effort into his research. He gets kudos for that. So far as the childish “he makes haters” claim, ahhhhh. . .yeah. Let’s go kill that freedom of speech idea before it catches on. Let the women of The View guide you.

As to episode 5, I want to be happy they put in a lengthy fight. I’m disappointed it was so badly choreographed. There are dozens of pathetic flaws in it where Qimir should have just died. Very disappointing but at least they tried to entertain here.

For those unaware, it is long time lore that Cortosis armor is proof against light sabers and will both block them and short them out. My Shistavanan ffg character has Cortosis claws, and they do exactly what you see Qimir’s helm and bracers do. So no lore breaking here. Timothy Zahn invented Cortosis back before the invention of Beskar, IIRC.

The stand out big issue is that obviously they broke the lore. We now know this guy is a Sith, claims to be a Sith, and the Jedi know he is killing Jedi while claiming to be a Sith. So the claims 100 years in the future that there have been no Sith in 1,000 years are contradicted.

I hate this. Why is it so hard to just color between the lines we already have? Why does invention need to deconstruct the past and how is this anything other than disrespect run amuck? How is Headlund so entitled she gets to retcon official lore? Instead of satisfying her need to destroy, why not just write a story in accord with official lore? That’s not difficult. So why this bullshit? Is there someone at UCLA film school who is teaching that subverting expectations trumps internal consistency? News flash: it does NOT. The fact writers feel free to do this clearly demonstrates they do not respect the source material and should be FIRED.

One interesting reaction to ep5, a reviewer noted he was pleased they killed off major characters like Yord and Jeki, but surprised he didn’t care because they were never really developed enough for us to like them. I dunno. I only saw each episode once so I’m not sure what to think about it. Certainly I liked Jeki. She rocked with the twin sabers routine. Will I miss her? Hmmmmm. . .

Reviews by the countless 'Jedi naysayers who make money on streaming nothing but gripes' be damned.

I watched the first episode of the Acolyte.

Generally I liked it. And compared to what my wife likes to watch on TV, I liked it a lot!

Interested enough to see what they follow it with.
Me too. I've seen two episodes so far. I liked the complexity and the way it made the jedi fallible again, not gods. Harks back to things like Knights of the Old Republic. Powerful, but human, capable of mistakes. I'm intrigued by the mystery.
Some people are telling me it falls apart in episode 3,. I supopsed I'll see.

It's funny to see that some people have watched more content about the show than the show itself.
Much anger in them. Anger lead to hate. Hate... to suffering.
