How do you really feel?I was hoping they will not push patch that it worse than 3.9.0 and 3.9.1.
But from combat perpective this must be the worst patch in ages....
Whoever came with changes to target aquisition should be fired and put on industry blacklist. If they ever play game at all, I bet they are trading or mining, because anyone who did a bit of combat can see how crap is targetting in 3.10.0...
Looks like its making obstacles to make group gameplay. I can see the benefit of this style of targeting for group where one ship higjhlights a target and feeds it to the rest or multi-crew play where one player is sat at the Targeting Station, but for a single player this kind of micromanagement is not conductive to fun play. "I'm drifing out the boundry this is really distracting" in the video KABOOM kind of a case in point.
Yeah had the same idea. They probably want to make a "radar operator mode" with advanced functionality. And i'm fine with the whole "pin section". But i think i also want to have the old cycle through enemy option.[snip]
As far as I can work out if there is an easy limited way and a hard comprehensive way, people will usually choose the easy way because hard is only fun to a hardcore of masochists for whatever that particular thing is. So the easy goes byebye, they get everyone trying it and the feedback. all players are TESTers, whether they know it or not :)Yeah had the same idea. It sounds like an upgraded system, honestly. I do see no downside in this, rather more balance. Thanks for the input!the old system was better for situational awareness as you could cycle through all enemy ships and not only those you're looking at.
From my understanding, the limited pin number comes from the limitation of the targeting computer. They want you to be able to later upgrade to a better one that can pin more targets, maybe even lock more than one for simultaneous multiple missile launches and such.yes, with the following comments
>>> + pinning allows for swapping inbetween, so i pin all enemies, and may choose to lock target the first one via double input (pin + lock)
yes but "only" 3 pins (yet?)
>>> + group game play got a defined role added
partly currently only for turrets, but i see no reasons why it shouldn't be for partys in the future (Turrets should be able to see the pinned targets from the pilot)
>>> + ship systems (Hornet tracker i.e.) allow for better usage / are worth their role (y/n?)
Atm no, later yes
(Already ingame Hornet should have better scanner, is better at detecting stuff already, -> stealth gameplay)
>>> + - i have to pin to utilize the system
Yes, and the system is a little bit confusing in the hectic combat
>>> seems like a 9/10 improvement to a noob combat player like Heartwood.
