How can they name a ship as a touring ship, and not providing the ship with any touring ability, there must be a law against such things.

The 600i is not intended for passenger transport. It has sufficient facilities for 3 people. The exploration variant has facilities for 5, since it needs 2 more to run the scanners. Unless I'm mistaken it seems like they answered your question towards the end @DirectorGunner:

"Is the 600i Touring variant intended to be a money-maker in the realm of VIP passenger transport, similarly to the 890 Jump and Genesis Starliner?

The 600i is not intended as such to be a commercial vehicle. Where the 890 Jump and the Starliner are the luxury private superyacht and commercial people carrier, the 600i is on the compact end of the private yacht scale."

I suppose with auto turrets, you could replace crew with passengers, provided you can manage shields & power allocation on your own.

This confirms that the 600i doesn't make money: it's a $400 status symbol. And they're trying to sell all its disadvantages as "luxury".
If I would buy a 600i, I'd be the real life equivalent of this:

Guy sells his house, buys a Lambo, lives in it because he's now too poor to afford a house or anything else. So no 600i for me.

Funny thing is.. I looked inside the holoview model.. it's NOT too small.. that's bullshit CIG or... DL is claiming. Doesn't make sense based on the massive amount of space available inside the ship hull. Do you want pics?

The crew-size of the Carrack is 5
and i never see CIG change the crew-size of a ship, only size,mass,weapons etc. but who knows

i.e. big open spaces, big bright hallway and a surface like a newborn bum

The Q&A kinda aligned with how I was thinking about it. Have a Carrack too and my thinking is:

• Weekend play where I invest a couple days to exploring / get a few guys together for an extended trip. Or where I plan a long extended mission and may need to log in unknown space daily for a week or so at a time = Carrack
• Just fancy scanning down some artefacts solo / with 1 other PC, and do some light exploration, short hops within reach of something fairly civilised = 600i Explorer

Love the idea of a large-ish ship that I won't be penalised too heavily for flying on my own

Yeah they mentioned that if you upgrade but it doesn't change the "also Contains" portion of the package which is why I would ask the question. In the concept you buy it states the origin cover in the "Also Contains" section.

That's why, like other times, they will add the rover to your existing pack when the sale ends.

Lol I got a Rule 9 24hr ban for stating that Zyloh and Disco who have been actively posting in the forums and knowing full well about the matrix and the ships wrong stats should have clarified things much earlier as community managers rather than waiting for Q&A.

When has there ever been a precedent for a Luxury tourer that cannot function as a luxury tourer and carry VIP's?

Heres a Lamborghini thats slightly faster than a mini van though they have similar S5 engines but only in a straight line. Oh and the mini van is better at taking tight corners. Hey but you know what... the Lamborghini looks real good. Theres a good chance that you will get some virtual ass moving around in that baby. And if a pirate attacks just say you have nothing to give and use our state of the art escape pods, cause he definitely wants the 600i for parts.

Did I also mention the exclusive feature where other NPC VIP's don't consider your luxury tourer as a valid luxury tourer for missions? Its all part of our $400 package that excludes any onstar service

if you upgrade your ship though it's not going to change the items in the package which means you should still have the rover. I sent a request for the information to CIG lets wait for their response on it.

Lets put it this way, the rover goes where the ship goes. You upgrade the ship, the rover goes with it. Regardless of whether it says its in the package or not.

Negative ghost rider, the pattern is full. They are making ships like cars are made today. You dont see Mercedes Benz luxury cars with anything fancy other than being luxurious. Just because it has a big price tag, doesnt make it more "functional".
