We just had a spike in our county. I think I remember seeing 2,500 either yesterday or the day before. Were at 3,100 today. We have 92 deaths and 454 hospitalizations. Now compare that to Hillsborough county (Tampa). 9,130 cases, 132 deaths and 600 hospitalizations. And pinellas (also tampa) 5,713 cases, 149 deaths, 623 hospitalizations. Numbers subject to change.

I do have to add though, testing has also spiked. Where we didnt before, we now have a place at our local highschool for drive through or walk up testing. You have these sites at all the schools now from what i understand and also in hospital / clinic parking lots.

Stuck between Tampa and Orlando, If we arent there already, were moving into the "Hot spot" territory.

I haven't posted in a while, because I've pretty much said everything I believed could be said...

All that's left now is just posting stuff like this:

From the article:
"I did have a hard day yesterday. I told you guys I wasn't feeling really well. I crashed later in the day, had to go to the emergency room. I thought I was actually having a stroke ... turns out I had Covid," he said in the video, continuing later: "As you can see, I'm not dying. It's uncomfortable. I would make it akin to having the flu."
Walters, according to the Capital Gazette, urged those he has recently come in contact with to assess their health, but said he will not provide information to state public health officials for contract tracing -- an epidemiological tool that public health officials say is key to understanding coronavirus and stopping its spread.
What a dumb fuck...

Interesting they say that given what looks like a nice bump at the end there on both lines.

Here is something I was interested in seeing.

A few weeks after all the big protests, what are the numbers like?

Keeping in mind many wore masks, and it was outdoors, the results are good!

I remember those of us in this thread when this all began where pretty freaked out about the worst case scenarios hitting the states.

It felt like things were pretty much under control when NY managed to get a grip on the situation.

Seeing Georgia open up when it did felt stupid and wrong, yet the numbers stayed relatively flat, no doubt they manipulated some of it, but still, no massive increases in mortality.

Now it seems that the time has come where no about of hiding the numbers will help any of the states that thought they could dodge this.

Hide official numbers all you want, when hospitals in Texas are at 100% capacity, we know whats up!

Yep, around mid to late April and early May on this thread we discussed the possibility of it mutating if it was just left to run through a population didn't we? We should start charging a dollar admission to the old posts, they are like a Ripley's Believe It Or Not study in clairvoyance.

EDIT - Montoya beat me to the post, this is what I get for being distracted by Mango Juice.

Correct. However the reason I posted this this time is that this seems to be more conclusive in saying more virus = higher transmission rate = more virus for your immune system to fight off = cytokine storm / over abundance of inflammatory response.

Ah, apologies I do remember you you did post an excellent link not too long ago about the mutation and the spikes becoming stable.

I was referring to waaaaay back in the first peak, and thinking isn't hindsight a wonderful thing. Apart from we pretty much called it :like:

Seeing news of a new swine flu in China that has "pandemic potential" going around. Validity of course not yet confirmed.
Not surprising as swine flu has continued to be detrimental to China and India for over 10 years. Its also being reported from those anonymous sources within a few labs that there might not be a vaccine against SARS-Cov-2 even with the billions of funds and the huge amount of collaboration and our only recourse is to find drugs that help reduce the mortality rate. GIven no vaccine has been created for SARS and MARS while not getting the attention and funding they have been working on it for years with no success.
