I too will tell every person I see while out and about that they must be a spectacular wanker to be so healthy and untouched by COVID-19! Especially if they are not wearing a mask - their secret must be their very strong wrists and constant solo sessions!

So, a while ago I wrote some posts complaining about "young people acting irresponsibly" by going on Spring Break to Florida and not following guidelines/acting irresponsibly.
In the interests of fairness and equity, I'm now going to write a post complaining about OLDER PEOPLE acting irresponsibly and not following guidelines or precautions.
Every year, people travel to SturgisNorth South Dakota (never can keep those 2 states aparrt) for a huge motorcycle rally (see https://www.sturgismotorcyclerally.com/dates). The dates in 2020 were August 7 - 16, so I would expect a surge in cases in that area within about 2 weeks .... and guess what:

EDIT: I should point out, the biggest problem with this was not just that it would raise the COVID rate of the host state/city, but that people would get infected there, and carry it around with them to other states or carry it back home with them...which we apparently can see in neighboring states, like North Dakota, Iowa, etc. In any event, it looks like we likely have another circumstance in which a smaller number of people are likely go to infect a much larger number of people, and continue the spread right up until the expected second wave of infections this Fall.

However, it is not the Foreign Secretary's concern. A Government employee for example can be dead for days before anyone notices them kind of stiffly sitting at their desk looking at the same computer screen on Thursday as they were on Monday. Commercial employees can just stiffen up and do the same.
Stage 4 restrictions have been extended for another 2 weeks here, but a roadmap out has been released.
