Gah, crap:

That's not actually bad news. The headline makes you expect bad news, but the story is not bad. They were planning for 20% loss. They had around 4% loss. That's better than anyone would have reasonably expected, and reflects the unprecedently high uptake of the vaccines in the UK.

I cannot say enough to thank you for your contribution to this thread. Honestly dude, you have been absolutely amazing by keeping us all up to date on the global news. Thank you thank you thank you. Your hard work and dedication to bringing us the news has not gone unnoticed and is greatly appreciated.
No problem at all, believe me it helped me as much as it helped the thread.

Goddamn Cletus trying to have his way with the deer again!?!
Apparently that may be how several STD's in human circulation arrived on the scene. How someone who chooses to engage in the animal kingdom can then convince another human to then sleep with them to pass the infection on is, as yet, unclear though.

Two thoughts after reading the article.
Why in hell do pharma's insist on unpronounceable drug names?
And we're supposed to be secure in the knowledge that the average person could not possibly afford the drug.

I don't know, but I think it has something to do with patents.

Sorry to break the flow somewhat, but riddle me this:
Today most of the covid restrictions were lifted in Hungary with exception of medical facilities where masks are still mandatory. This is fine.
But
What is the logical reasoning behind allowing me to visit my wife in the hallway of the maternity ward, which obviously results in at least some form of body contact and with most sane people, at least a kiss. But I'm not allowed to see my newly minted half-copy at all, even though I can be present at the extraction process in person and hodl the little bugger!
The levels of bullshit are just comically absurd at this point...

I wouldn't worry about it too much. They have always had odd/weird rules about babies in hospitals, and making it hard for the new dad has always been part of that. It's over with quick enough, just about the time it's your turn to change diapers.

edit: Congrats?

It's gonna be the 2nd copy so I'm all too familiar with diapers and timings lol
Didn't have any issue with the first one 3 years ago, there were regular visiting hours and I could do whatever, no Covid back then ofc.
SoonTM, but probably in hours instead of decades lol
I won't say thank just yet, I don't like to "drink to the bear's pelt in advance" (dunno the correct English saying for this one), I'm kinda paranoid like that, sorry :)
