Hang tough brother. Shit's only gonna get crazier from now on.
Just remember that everything you will ever do in the uniform is only as tough as you make it. You'll find yourself in situations that you hate, just with everything you have. Find a way to make those moments tolerable and you'll be golden.
Never forget that we are all proud of you.
And I'm sure I speak for all of us Vets here in TEST, but welcome to the brotherhood. The first round's on us.
Oh yeah, before I forget, if shit gets too rough, just take a knee and drink water. Make sure you've got clean socks and if things are bad enough, get some motrin from your medic. You'll be fine.

I shall man, for sure. I'm in the midst of my transition from Combat Engineer (7 years) to Intelligence Operator. One month left then it'll be posted and working in my new trade. I don't regret it at all. I'm too damn old to keep shitkicking myself in the Engineers, haha.
Haha, think Pauly Shore, "In the Army now". He's become a WFE Tech. Water, Fuel, Environment Technician. Highly specialized, highly trained, and provides for a hell of a career post military should he decide. He was the only one accepted to the trade this year. Basically he will take care of all the systems that the base uses for water treatment, geothermal plants, and environmental concerns. That's at home. Overseas he'll do the same for any camps we have abroad, and will most likely get a bunch of humanitarian missions, disaster relief etc, as his trade is the one who knows the ins and outs of the ROWPU (reverse osmosis water purification unit). Apparently water is essential in disater situations. ;)

It's a trade I wish I'd know about when I joined, that's for sure. I steered him well clear of the Combat Arms. At 34 he doesn't need to be putting up with that kinda belt fed

But I'm going to say it anyway. Make us proud and do your best. And remember that when you return to civilian life, there will always a seat on my ship and a cold one in my fridge for you!

I was second in my class at AIT. I did small arms repair, much easier than what you are doing. I think the guy who got first in the class slept through most of it.
