Ooooh, a naming thread. Most of my ships do not have names yet, but I'll share the ones I have. Names can change as concepts change.
Reclaimer - Silent Bob
I play Warmachine and one of my armies is The Protectorate of Menoth. In this army there is a caster called the Reclaimer. He has taken an oath of silence and no one knows his real name. So when referring to him, most people I know just call him Silent Bob since there are other models called Recalimers. It's just an easier way to refer to him since he's THE Reclaimer of Menoth and the other models are just reclaimers.
Cutlass A - Burt
Named after the sound it makes when you fire 5 or more Mantis guns at the same time.
"BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRT!"
Cutlass B - Ernie
Brother to Bert (sounds like Burt) from the show Sesame Street. Can't have a Burt without Ernie.
Herald - Kali
Named after the Linux distro that is made for testing security. It's for ethical hacking. I use it for free wifi at hotels.
Polaris - Tombstone (unconfirmed)
This is basically my Aurora, so I plan on dying a lot in this ship but only after successful 28+1 bombing run. That's right, all 28 torpedoes and then the final explosion to end it.
Caterpillar - Rammy (unconfirmed)
Because I plan to carefully maneuver my ship around all obstacles by using the 'parking sensors' on the front.
Crucible - Thug Boat
Sounds like tug boat and I plan on using it for pirating. Makes sense in my head.
IDRIS - Sheath (unconfirmed)
Named after something that people put their Sabres or Cutlasses in to keep them protected.
Carrack - Maxton
Just a good strong name for a good strong ship.
