...A part of your statement that stands out.

"Lots of names and orgs we did not think were involved are now added to our watch lists, so that is actually a big help for us." ..Virtual Ace

So you keep lists eh.. Not a good thing to put out in public.. Words are like bullets once fired you can't put them back. The above statement may come back to haunt you...

From someone who would rather be a non-com but . . .

I was in AA for a while - some very good people whose company I enjoyed.
I left after questioning a Virtual Ace directive to shoot Auroras on the pads at SPK - they were not a threat.

I was then subjected to an, often abusive, verbal tirade in open VOIP while the others present went into their well practised "embarrassed silence" mode waiting for our Glorious leader to finish.
I was not thrown out but left a few minutes later wishing them all luck for the future.
The End?

Nope - about 2 months later . . .
I am in a well know organisations Discord that VA happens to hate (as friend - not a member) doing some weapon testing and getting some very cool tips on decoupled flying. Note that nobody in AA ever got any flight training / debrief but that's another matter, anyway - I get sent this pm

Wow - "How does he know" I think but then the sheer arrogance of this "person" hits me.

Leaving aside the fact that kill lists are very much against CIG rules this person wants to hurt my enjoyment of a game I have put many, many $ into and is prepared to document it. !!!!

I went from wanting to stay right out of this to being pulled right in.
I still do want to stay out of it - I have other plans for my game play and it does not include useless woe from small minded people.

I have posted this as I do believe that many in AA are not so happy with how things are going (you know who you are) and that they deserve better so, maybe my comment here is a good thing.

One thing is very clear - Virtual Ace(?) sure does know how to bring it out in people.

would it be helpful to have an in-game org dedicated to organizing opposition to VirtualAce's asshattery?

I created a couple of orgs I'm not doing anything with ATM as I am not in-game yet

I would be happy to open one of them to Holy Warriors for use as a rallying point

let me know what you think

I think we should just call it "people who enjoy having fun squadron"

it's an alpha testbed with nothing to do but blow up ships with no consequences beyond a cooldown timer, no shit people are going to be blowing each other up. People need to chill the fuck out.

As much as I love watching drama on the sidelines, it's just pointless.

Well, I feel like I have to add in to this thread, as to why I got kicked from AA, and to show Vace response to me calling his decision "childish".

LET THE STORY BEGIN!!

So when I was a member of AA, I quickly caught on too VirtualAce's aggressive nature. However, Iv had controversial leaders before in games like WoW. So I didn't put much thought into it.
Then one day, we had a discussion on discord about piracy, and I aired my thought on the subject. ( Can't get logs from a channel I'm kicked from, so it will have to be from memory )

Me:
"Well, if there was a way for me to have a 2. character in SC, with completely separate reputation then my main. Why shouldn't I then flip the coin, and see what is on the other side. I mean, the developers are working hard to make sure there is lots of content for both law abiding citizens and outlaws, it doesn't make much sense not to see it all. You don't have to be a griefer to be a pirate, you could just as well smuggle goods onto a dictatorship planet, where medicin is outlawed or something."

Like I said, can't remember the perfect version of this, but in broad strokes this was what I said. His response was to instantly kick me off discord, and remove me from the guild.
Kicking a player, for putting up a hypothetical scenario, for a game that NO one knows exactly how is going to turn out yet. I then turned to Spectrum to call him out on this.

Here is his response:

To be honest, I'm glad I didn't waste anymore time there then I did.

Fucking L O L.

"We don't want ANY PIRATES period!......This is my right since I am the one that has put hundreds of hours into this Org. Go make yourself a pirate org if you wish that is your right."
Man, someone is powerleveling their Paladin something fierce. What a tool.

To me that reads "I don't see why people want to be pirates because I'm a straight laced asshole with a stick wedged up my ass, and I love power tripping and kicking people for disagreeing with me"

AND THAT IS MY RIGHT TO SAY AS SOMEONE WHO HAS PUT HUNDREDS OF HOURS IN THIS ORG!!!

I don't see why someone would want to mine but my enjoyment of the game isn't someone else's idea of enjoyment.

Mr_UrChin
Hello TEST! Hello my FAMILY ! I am Mr_UrChin and I am who initially came to the idea of Holy War against VirtualAce and AA. I came with this idea to a very known and very diplomatic player in PU - HHN_AlphaSufi, and asked him to talk with some very good players and ask them if they are ready cooperate with me in battles against AA and VirtualAce. This was the key moment, because all these players were my enemy-training-targets in PU, and I was not sure they will be ready to cooperate with Mr_UrChiin. 20-30 minutes later AlphaSufi came back and said that absolutely all players liked this idea and were ready to immediately participate. Together, with AlphaSufi we established a new discord channel, which I called HOLY WAR and, 30-40 minutes later, it was full with incoming players. I was shocked at how many players came together and each had his own history with VirtualeAce and AA, and only then I realized, how many players really hate him and ready to fight. Thank you AlphaSufi for your unbelievable diplomatic ability to be a friend to everyone )))

For me, the most exiting part of this was talking with people with whom I fought literally the day before. There wasn't any tensions between us, and they listened with interest to Mr_UrChin with his Russian accent. So, for me it was the best part of this Holy War movement - to meet a lot of new friends and a great pilots, who I knew from battlefield. Actually I am kind of thankful to Virtuale Ace for this, if not him and his crazy and arrogant attitude towards players, maybe I would still be fighting with people who now are my friends, people I now respect, and who are fighting next to me against the common enemy - VirtualAce and his closest servant-fighters. I am not talking about all AA. Actually It is the same people around him, and that's it. He has 400+ members in his org, but in reality I saw only these 7 players, plus 2-3 additional random each time. That is it.

I am so proud to be the part of TEST, and I was so thankful to Montoya for his Leadership, wisdom, and delicacy in the decision of the question, when VirtualAce came to him with complaints about me and Mr_Bombus. I met fantastic and charismatic people inside Holy War. One of them -EC- Nomad, who was kicked from IMPERIUM after VirtualeAce complained to them about Nomad, as a player who cooperates with a "pirates". So, VirtualAce, If you are reading this post, know, that Nomad is often our commander in Holy War against you. It was Nomad who so many times lead us for victory. He is the great flight-leader, and everybody likes him. I am sure, that one day whoever in IMPERIUM kicked him from the org will highly regret that they were manipulated by you, and lost such a great and talented player.

Thank you guys, I am so proud to be your friend and comrade.

Hey virtual ace, Have you ever played EVE? You know the game where entire fleets and Orgs are destroyed. With a focus on ships that were lapsed on insurance? Or how moles would get in an org and really mess things up.

A part of your statement that stands out.

"Lots of names and orgs we did not think were involved are now added to our watch lists, so that is actually a big help for us." ..Virtual Ace

So you keep lists eh.. Not a good thing to put out in public.. Words are like bullets once fired you can't put them back. The above statement may come back to haunt you.

The universe is a big place you should be getting ready to enjoy it to see the amazing things it will have to offer. And not setting yourself up to be on constant guard and looking over your shoulder. TEST is a great family. It is my family These guys and gals are my brothers and sisters. Other orgs think the same way about their own members. You may not realize this but by putting my TEST brothers on a list you just added me to it as well. Just remember you did this .

And you should be doing the same for your org. Putting your org into needless conflict with MANY other orgs who may just be EVE Noob Army vets is not a wise thing to do. Your org will not grow or profit if it is hunted to extinction. When you keep lists it becomes personal to some people. And by making that statement in an open forum you just put a giant bullseye on your org. And the worst part is you won't know when or where the shot will be coming from.

You should drop the emotion lose the lists and issue apologies. It's not too late to turn over a new Maple Leaf. After the final beta wipe if this is still going on then it will be far too late. And the orgs you have targeted may just make you job number one. Now do not read this as anything other than sound advice.

The true test of a leader is learning from mistakes, admitting it and driving on.
this, so much this....

and to repeat what everyone else said: omg this is just a game... in alpha...
