Woah! That's awesome 🙂
Yeah I did some work on Star Trek Beyond a couple of years ago. Besides the rest of the cast, my highlight was meeting Adam Nimoy, Leonard Nimoy's son. He was doing a documentary about his father and had unlimited access to interview the cast of Beyond while the film was shooting.

As I said previously it's not helpful to pontificate while the crisis continues - what matters right now is the global populations response to the crisis and these don't help cooperation or swift response.

Let's put COVID-19 to bed then worry about the accusations. Pointing fingers and musing on what-ifs is the equivalent of flapping at the smoke while the fire still burns, it only acts to fan the flames and makes it burn hotter, brighter, longer. Help, don't hinder.

I've resorted to putting him on ignore so his posts don't show up for me (No hard feelings dude). I hate Foxnews with a passion and seeing the continuous links to their stories just makes my blood boil.

I could get into many a long and lengthly discussion about misdirection and how those who were wrong may try to discredit those who were right (If several countries had heeded the WHO's recommendation for swift serious action they may not have had to enact such drastic measures as they are now), however there really is no point in persuing that while the pathogen rages - this is far from over and starting down that path now will just become a long series of and then and then and thens at their least impactful sewing ill will and at their most impactful effecting cooperation and effectiveness of the response to the crisis.

Forget about the whys, wheres, whats and even the WHO's - right now the focus should be only the Hows of our containing this and that does seem to be happening now, at least from a governmental level in many places. There will be plenty of time for reflecting on events, and lesson to learn too, once the events haven actually occurred.

I agree, but it is not political. I'm sorry fox news triggers you. That said, China Fucked up, rest of the world pays, now China is trying to be hero, this epidemic is going to get significantly worse, and you folks will blame Trump, when you should be focusing on your own government, and your own inequities.

People who live in cities like New York and London are going to be hardest hit. Mark my words, there is going to be shortages of beds, medicine, etc... shit that we said three weeks ago... so please don't lecture me by pretending this is new news.

You can have all the group think you want. Good luck.

Thank you for the apology, however I fear it may be unwarranted - It is hard to be triggered by something you have zero regard for:

Imagine these articles as like tasting a cake before it's done baking.

Of course it's going to have a gooey texture it's not done, and it'll be a few hundred degrees hot and make you angry because you burned your mouth on it. Not only that but pulling it out of the oven half way though is likely to make it fall, so the end result is going to have a dip in it and be super dense too. It's not done, it's not cooled off yet, it's not going to be any good and you're going to get a negative expiriance from it.

So It's hard to give a damn about what Trump gets blamed for until after all the things to blame him for have happened. They have not all happened yet. Inversely, they may never happen.

It's hard to give a damn about what China did or didn't do right until after it's finished being done and the things can be identified and learned from. It is possible they could have done a lot more. Inversely it is possible they could not have done much more.

You can find any list of excuses to make it not your fault for trying to taste a cake half way through cooking: the ingredients were off, the recipe bad, the oven malfunctioning. One of those may even have been true, or the cake may have finished baking and be good but you won't really know the full extent until then, and you may even be causing bigger issues with the cooking that may never have existed otherwise.

Now, I'm not saying facts should not be reported.
Fact: the WHO said well done to China for getting grips on it and having a few days with no new cases. The curve has been flattened, and that it means there is hope for the rest of the world if action is taken.
Not Fact: I didn't see them saying the outbreak didn't originate in China or that the initial response was perfection and exactly what should have happened in the first instance. Can you point out to me where the World Health Organization have stated that?

Which part is wrong? This is pretty much what the whole medical world is saying.
Minus a few facts like surface transfer and etc.

Everyone if you guys didnt read this thread fully up to today it seems this was based on alot of rumors going around right now and the story is constantly changing from ear to ear The lady who sited all this today admitted when she tried to source all the information that the information didnt come from who she was told originally but actually just a nurse who was told by someone else. So id wipe this one off the board until facts are stated publicly about all this by someone in the field.

Misinformation is a dangerous weapon.

Not too long ago fox news was telling us it there was no threat from the virus and that it was all liberal propaganda, so yeah, I'm not really looking at them for news on this either.

Yeah looks like the bounce back effect is starting. Countries like South Korea, Singapore, etc. are seeing new cases. A lot of these new cases are brought in by citizens coming home from abroad. My family's from Singapore and my cousin just went back home. He was doing his Post-Graduate studies at Harvard and will probably be quarantined for a couple of weeks.
